Are you ready for Infor’s April 2025 release? How to stay ahead of updates.

Infor’s April 2025 release is just around the corner—are you ready? Every new update brings changes, enhancements, and potential risks to customized instances of Infor M3. But the challenge isn’t just understanding what’s new; it’s ensuring that the update works with your unique setup.

Infor’s testing covers its own software, but it doesn’t test your specific instance, with your customizations, integrations, and workflows. That’s your responsibility. And without a solid testing strategy, every update is a gamble. Here’s what to expect from the April release—and how to make sure you’re not left scrambling at the last minute.

What’s coming in the April 2025 Infor release?

Infor rolls out updates like clockwork, but April’s is a bit bigger than most. While most of the updates Infor release are small-scale, featuring patches and minor bug fixes, April’s release is the first of two major releases for Cloudsuite this year (the second is in October). As well as the patches and bug fixes and so on, these major releases have new functionality and features.

Because of the scale of this update, it has a far greater potential to disrupt your business than smaller updates. Larger changes are more likely to change the way you might use Infor, and to affect more business processes – so it’s vital to test them properly.

If you want the inside scoop, keep an eye on Infor’s official updates. But knowing what’s in the release is only half the battle—the real question is, how are you going to respond?

Preparing for the update: the importance of a testing platform

Infor does a great job of testing their software—but not your setup. If your organization has custom configurations, third-party integrations, or unique workflows, this update could throw a wrench in the works.

What could go wrong?
  • Your custom workflows might stop playing nice if Infor’s changes conflict with your configurations.
  • Integrations could break—which is fine if you don’t mind chaos in finance, supply chain, or customer management.
  • Business-critical processes could grind to a halt, leading to downtime, unhappy users, and frantic IT teams.
How to stay in control

A structured testing approach is your best bet for avoiding nasty surprises:

  • Regression testing: Make sure your existing workflows haven’t gone rogue.
  • Integration testing: Double-check that third-party tools still connect smoothly.
  • User acceptance testing (UAT): Confirm that everything still works before your users find the problems for you.

A dedicated testing platform takes the guesswork out of updates. The right tools can:

  • Automate regression testing, so you’re not stuck manually checking everything.
  • Give you clear visibility into what’s working and what’s about to cause trouble.
  • Speed up validation, so you can roll out updates with confidence instead of crossed fingers.

This isn’t the only update—11 more are coming

Infor doesn’t just drop one big update a year—they release updates every month. If you don’t have a repeatable, automated testing strategy, every update becomes a fire drill.

Instead of scrambling every time a new release drops, a long-term testing plan helps you:

  • Roll with the changes without breaking a sweat.
  • Avoid last-minute surprises (because nobody likes finding out something’s broken after go-live).
  • Keep systems running smoothly without the stress.

Stay in control of your Infor updates

Infor’s April release is coming, but this won’t be the last update you’ll need to navigate. If you’re still relying on spreadsheets, hope, and sheer determination to manage testing, you’re making things harder than they need to be.

Take it from Valmet, a global leader in industrial technology, automation, and services. Facing a major Infor M3 upgrade across six countries, they leveraged Original Software’s testing platform to streamline their process. By implementing a structured testing approach, Valmet was able to cut their planned three-month testing period in half, saving an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 hours. Read their story here

A structured testing platform ensures that each update works with your unique setup—without the stress. If you want to be confident that your systems will function post-update, now is the time to invest in a smarter testing strategy. Learn more about how Original Software can help here.
